Houses at Polo Run will start at $280,000 and range from 1,600 square feet to 3,400 square feet.
Lennar is building two neighboring communities east of Lorraine Road: Polo Run and Lakewood National. Between them, 1,999 new homes are expected to be added on 1,390 acres.
The Lakewood Ranch Stewardship District, which is developing 23,255 acres at Lakewood Ranch, approved $49 million in infrastructure costs in 2016 to make possible development of Polo Run and Lakewood National.
Infrastructure includes drainage improvements, utilities, roadways and landscaping.
“Historically, there has been an urban myth that economics, the state of technology and the inability to market excess power gainsay the feasibility of solar power. Hopefully, this effort can help put that to rest,” Jensen said.
Polo Run is set to become Lakewood Ranch’s first all-solar community. Polo Run is located about 1 1/2 miles east of Lorraine Road off State Road 70. The developer is Lennar Homes.
