Per the USDA websoil survey map, the property land type is coded as "58: Dawson, Greenwood and Loxley soils." Predominantly lowland bog/muskeg with the cabin sitting on a sandy, well drained hill. Upper front of the cabin has good south facing exposure. Predominant vegetation on the sandy portion is predominantly bracken fern, fir, maple, lowbush blueberry. Within the bog is tamarack, black spruce, pitcher plants and sundew, mosses and cranberry.

I've tracked many deer here and large sheds have been found on the property. Bears frequent the area, but I haven't seen any personally. This is a great area for ruffed grouse as well as snowshoe hare. Other wildlife seen on property or within a 7 mile radius includes ravens, bald eagles, coyotes, foxes, fishers and red squirrels.
